It's that time of the month again! It's January, and twelve teams are ready to fight for the ultimate prize...all the perks/attention from media day...haha, joking! *Superbowl* is just over a month away, and as of right now, some teams are looking better than others. Of course, I'm rooting for the Patriots, but as amazing as Brady is, they cannot be relying on the offense to do all the work! Yes, the Bills game was exciting, but falling behind early and then making a comeback isn't necessarily going to work in the play-offs. Even though we have home field advantage througout the play-offs, the Pats have lost play-off games at home (thereby ending their season) a couple of years in a row. The offense is phenomenonal and is doing their job, it's REALLY time for the defense to step up. Anytime now D, anytime.
SO who do you think will be the MVP this year? The two contenders are Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers, and since both have had a stellar season, it's going to be a very difficult decision. Just comparing stats, I think Rodgers wins. Drew Brees has broken records (Dan Marino's and his own), led his team to a 13-3 record, has 46 TDs this season, with 14 interceptions. Rodgers, on the other hand, has led his team to a 15-1 record, 45 TDs (in 15 games) and only 6 interceptions. I heard on SportsCenter, Matt Flynn's dynamite performance against the Lions may cost Rodgers the MVP title. I don't think that's a fair statement. Their argument is, that the Packers are such a well-built machine, you can plug in any Joe-Shmo as the QB, and they will do well. That may be partially true, but that takes away from both Rodgers' and Matt Flynn's accomplishments; which I think is unfair. So we'll see, but in my *humble* opinion, Rodgers is the MVP of this season.
PS: How amazing would it be if the Skins got Matt Flynn? We have the #6 overall pick. Now if we don't (pardon my french) eff it up, we should have a decent QB. We NEED a decent QB. Oh how nice would it be if we end up with Robert Griffin III, you know, winner of the Heisman? We actually have a decent chance of getting him, unless the Vikings or Bucs get their hands on him first. The teams picking before us are:
1.) Indianapolis Colts: Luck or no Luck? Manning or no Manning? Can't wait to find out!
2.) St. Louis Rams: Don't know if they'll pick a QB, don't know enough about them, so I'll keep my mouth shut...haha
3.) Minnesota Vikings
4.) Cleveland Browns
5.) Tampa Bay Bucs
I guess we'll see! I'm seriously considering moving if the Skins don't draft a QB this year.
Happy thought of the day #1: The Jets crumbling, Santonio Holmes walking out on his team at a very crucial time, and Rex Ryan looking like an a$$ for making Holmes the captain. PUAHAHA.
Happy thought of the day #2: Go Gronkay for setting the record for being the most awesome TE in the NFL...oh and the most TDs (17) by a TE in the regular season. No one will be touching THAT number anytime soon.
