That was BREEZY!

My fellow football fans know what I'm talking about right? Drew Brees officially broke Dan Marino's single season passing record against the Atlanta Falcons yesterday. Marino had that record on lock since 1984 at 5084 yards, and this year we have at least 2 more potential QBs that may pass that monumental number. That's huge! Three QB's passing 5000 yards in one season!! Anyone wanna venture a guess who the other two are? I'll give you a hint. It ain't Rex Grossman! (haha..I laugh, but it still hurts). Yes, Tom Brady, who stands at 4897 yards, and Aaron Rodgers, who's at 4643 yards. Obviously, I was hoping Brady would be the one to pass Marino's record, but we'll let Brees have that one. Speaking of Brady The Great, here is a list of his records and accomplishments through the years. That's a longgggg list... in the words of my 16 year old cousin/any random hipster...JUST SAYING...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Brady

There IS one record that MAY be broken by Aaron Rodgers this week against the Lions; for most TD passes in a regular season. Brady holds the record at 50 TDs right now, HOWEVER, Rodgers is at 45 right now, with only one game to play before the post-season. So we'll see, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! The dude has 45 TDs, 4643 yards, and 6 interceptions! SIX! That's crazy! He's almost as good as the 2007 Brady ;) I kid I kid, Rodgers is a freaking machine.

**Random fact #1: The 49ers defense hasn't allowed a rushing TD in 14 games.
**Random fact #2: Packers are offering 30,000 more shares...I recently found out that they're actually not privately owned!
**Random fact #3: Patriots secured first-round bye last week. YAY! By the way...Pats D has GOT to do better!
**Put your foot in your mouth (pun intended) moment of the week: Any guesses? I literally loll'ed (please tell me you know what that means) when the Jets lost to the Giants. Like I said before, I feel wrong supporting the Giants winning anything, let alone getting closer to securing a play-offs spot. But the Jets losing to the Giants, after a week of trash talk by Rex Ryan, was just gratifying. And getting into a scuffle with Brandon Jacobs? Tsk Tsk Tsk.
**Funny fan photo of the week (Packers fan): I blacked-out (pinked-out?) her face, but isn't that hilarious? I can't think of a worse punishment. YOU GO GIRL!

Some things I love, and where to get them!

Goodmorning ya'll! So my blog is having a bit of an identity crisis. Yes, I wanted it to be about football and fashion originally, but blogging is addicting! Now I wanna tell you guys about everything! I see an interesting article in a magazine, I wanna blog about it. I buy cheap tomatoes at the grocery store, I wanna blog about it. I hear about Sachin Tendulkar missing his 100th century (yes, sometimes I follow cricket haha), I wanna blog about it. You get the picture. So, I was thinking, I wanna blog about some great products, from beauty to hair, and where you can find them. Let's start with hair...

1.) Dabur Vatika Intensive Conditioning Hair Mask: I'm in loveeee with this hair mask. It's an Indian hair mask, available in two varieties. You can either get an Egg Protein deep conditioning hair mask, or Virgin Olive hair mask. You're supposed to put it in your hair after shampooing, leave it in for 15 minutes (wrapped in a hot towel). When you rinse it out, your hair will feel soft and luxurious! Even my husband notices when I use this hair mask, and he wouldn't notice if I dyed my hair hot pink. The best part? It's $4.99! Available at your local Indian store.

2.) Sebastian Whipped Cream Light Conditioning Mousse:  This is a fun little can, literally looks like whipped cream! It's a leave-in conditioner that you apply after shampooing (in damp hair). I've been using it for almost a year now; whenever I don't feel like styling my hair, I just put a dollop of this conditioner in my hair, and it gives me nice beachy looking waves. It's also a great heat protectant, for times when you do feel like torturing your hair :p

It's a bit expensive, I buy mine from PR & Partners in Chantilly. By the way, GREAT hair salon with very talented stylists. They actually have you fill out information about your personality and what kind of hair you would like, so the stylist knows what they're working with. Isn't that cute!? AND for every two people you refer (that actually get a haircut), you get a free one! So let me know if anyone is interested :)
SO ANYWHO, I found the mousse on Amazon for a pretty good price. Click the link-edy link.

3.)  Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline flat iron: This flat iron is uhhhh...wait for it...mazing! (haha, a little HIMYM reference). Now I don't know if this because of the straightening iron or the hair mask (I started using both at the same time), but my hair stays soft and straight for DAYS! I don't get those annoying day-after-straightening-your-hair-waves anymore (NOT the pretty kind...ladies, you know what I'm talking about! ), I don't have to re-straighten my hair, and it gives a nice glossy finish as well. I especially love mine because I got it for an amazing price! Originally, it is $129.99 on Folica.com, but through Plum District, I was able to get it for $59.99 PLUS free shipping PLUS a free hair dryer! Don't worry, I'll keep you posted if I see similar deals.

Ok, that's all folks! I'll be on the lookout for great beauty/fair/fashion etc products, please feel free to pass along information about anything you've tried and loved!

PS: I should really come up with a catch phrase to end each posting with...how about "toodles mcboodles"? HAHA

I guess we have Boxing Day too now?

Hello, fellow shoppers! From my days spent living in Canada, I remember Boxing Day being a huge deal. I mean, it wasn't as big as Black Friday, no one got shot or pepper-sprayed (still can't believe that happened!), but still, the deals were pretty good. I've actually gone shopping on the day after christmas many times, and I always find good deals. So "Boxing Day" has always existed, but I guess it's being marketed as the new Black Friday now!

Check out some deals from the interwebs  =P

Football news...

So, I'm not just saying this because I'm a Pats fan, I *dislike* the Jets and Rex Ryan, A LOT. But just as a general rule of thumb, if you're team just got their butts handed to them by a team that hasn't been doing so well, trash talk is the last thing you should do. The Eagles beat the Jets 45-19 this past sunday, and you would think Rex would be a little humble about the upcoming game against the Giants. But no sir, not Mr. Ryan. He's been talking a whole lot, mostly about how the Jets are the better team, how they're going to "claim" New York as their city. Here's an excerpt from his rant on monday:

I know it's going to piss off every Giants fan to hear this, but here you go: We are the better team. We are the big brother ... (We're) going to remain the better team for the next 10 years."

Now this might be just me, but I think the whole team just lacks discipline. And there's no one to blame, but Rex Ryan's brash and impetuous nature. Take Santonio Holmes for example. He had a fumble and a drop in the first quarter, both of which led to TDs by the Eagles. Then finally when he scored a TD later in the game, he flapped his hands, pretending to be an "eagle", and then put the ball under his foot. REALLY? Your team is down by 28 points! Of course, I thought it was hilarious that he got called out for unsportsman-like conduct, costing his team 15 yards. But the lack of discipline and humility shown by this team, game after game, is just appalling.
"I know it's going to piss off every Giants fan to hear this, but here you go: We are the better team. We are the big brother ... (We're) going to remain the better team for the next 10 years."

I feel wrong saying this as a loyal Skins fan, but I'm hoping and praying for the Giants to win on sunday. I can't imagine anything more painful, than seeing the Jets in the post-season this January!

hehehe...if you don't know what this is about, just youtube "Rex Ryan feet"

Anywhooooo, so Aaron Rodgers received the 2011 AP Male Athlete of the Year award. Way to go Rodgers! With 4360 total yards, 40 TDs and only 6 interceptions, an award well deserved! I'm a little worried he's going to break Brady's record of most TDs in a season (50)! Oh well...I woudn't mind so much, Aaron Rodgers seems so kind, humble, and down to earth. And he's so cute!!

I forgot to mention in my football post earlier this week..mad props to the SKINSSSSS...our defense was on point! Our very own London Fletcher leads the NFL in tackles (1762 to be exact)...take that Ray Lewis! And the dude is 36 years old! Uhhmazing!

I guess that's it for now, can't wait for the Giants vs. Jets game this sunday! Oh and we were watching SNL last night, I could not stop laughing at the Tebow/Jesus skit. That's exactly what I've been saying this whole time! I'm glad Jesus agrees with me :). Watch it here if you missed it! Apparently a lot of people were offended by it...don't you think we've become incredibly sensitive now? Everything has to be politically correct, all the time! Well, that's a topic for another post :)

Until next time! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy holidays, Happy whatever-you-celebrate! Be kind, be nice, have a drink, and enjoy life!

Sales sales sales!

Goodmorning everyone! It's humppppp day!! Well, not for me, I'm off for the rest of the week! Yay yay yay! I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I could use those days off. How's everyone's day going? Does anyone watch 'How I Met Your Mother'? I recently got into that show, and I can't stop watching it! I feel like my day is incomplete without it. I wanna know who the mother is already!! I bet the director/producer doesn't even know yet, which is why they can't figure out how to tell us...haha...I kid I kid. But some of the things they talk about on the show are so true! Like, I'm so scared of being the Blitz! FYI, Blitz is the guy that leaves a party/get together etc early, and misses out on something awesome, like a dog dancing on one leg, or a pig ice skating. BEING THE BLITZ IS A REAL CONDITION, AND IT'S VERY SERIOUS!!

What are some other good shows to watch? My husband and I are completely obsessed with Dexter. Season 5 was a little disappointing in my opinion, but I've heard good things about 6. Apparently Michael C. Hall had asked for a $24 million dollar contract renewal, and after denying at first, Showtime had no choice BUT to renew his contract. I mean he is DEXTER! Dex gets what Dex wants!

Oh hayyyyy Dex!!

Okie, now let's talk about some good sales, shall we?

1.) Neiman Marcus midday dash: Everyday, from 11:30 CT to 1:30 CT, Neiman Marcus has certain items upto 65% off, PLUS free rush delivery. All the good stuff sells out pretty fast...yesterday, I saw this Marc Jacobs crossbody for $185!! It was literally gone in ONE second :(

2.) Oooh Oooh! This Kate Spade coin purse is on sale for $22, and if you join their mailing list (bottom right hand corner), you get another 15% off. That's $18.70!! It's SO cute! Click here. The website has a great sale going on, the black shoulder bag below is on sale for $237, and with additional 15% off, drops down to $201.45! Oh and free shipping!

3.) Restaurant.com has the 90% of coupon again! That means you can get a $100 gift certificate for $4!!!! Use coupon code "JOY"

I guess that's it for now! Some of the older sales (Express, Macy's) are still going on, you can print the coupon from my older post.

Best of Sonam Kapoor

What! I told you there might be some bollywood posts! So I just love the way Sonam Kapoor (Indian "actress") dresses. Yes, sometimes she looks like she's trying too hard, and sometimes it seems like she'll eeven wear a brown paperbag, as long as it has a designer label on it. But most of the time, she looks effortlessly put together. By the way, anyone watch MI4? I haven't seen it yet, but from what I hear, Anil Kapoor's role was super lameeee! I still wanna watch it though, apparently Tom Cruise really did do that stunt on the Burj! Crazy!!

Ok so here are some of my favoritest (yes, I think that should be a word!) outfits. I want every single one of them, especially that phulkari suit!

A little edgy...I know...but I think she can pull it off...

One of absolute favs...Stella Mccartney. I don't like it with the lining underneath, but I guess it IS India!

At the Cannes Film Festival...a lot of fashion critics hates this dress, but I think she can pull it off!

I love everything about this look...the hair, the saree, the make-up, and the earrings.

I don't like the pink belt, but otherwise the dress AND the fit...GORGEOUS!!

This is one my favoritest Sonam dresses...I WANT!!

What were they thinking!!

So here are some of the worst outfits of 2011. I get it, you wanna be edgy and different on the red carpet, but sometimes not looking like a gorilla is the way to go!

Hence the "not looking like a gorilla" reference...

Usually Cate Blanchett dresses so well! The front of that dress kinda of looks like a vase...
Umm...just stop!

She's so cute! But still an adult...

Everyone knows how much I love her...*saracasm*

Hmmm...what?

I swear my mom used to have a table cover like that!

And Of course...there's Nicki Minaj. As ridiculous as her outfits are, she's AMAZING in concert! By the way, it looks like barbie took a dump on her head...hehehe

This year's best and worst outfits

So it's almost 2012, and it's time for the "best of" and "worst of" lists. I think J Lo's sequined Emilio Pucci minidress topped the list for me. Paired with the Louboutins, she looks absolutely stunning. Marc Anthony, you're an idiot!! What's your favorite outfit?? The pictures are in no particular order, except the first one of course :)

Ugh...why is beyonce so beautiful/classy/sexy?

I LOVE that outfit! It looks like a saree!
She always dresses so well!

I should hate her, but I don't :)

Some people didn't like this dress on her, but I think it looks great!
Hailee Steifeld...adorable!

Evan Rachel Wood...I know it's black, but it's stunning!!

Nina Dobrav...beautiful!!

Jennifer Hudson...she's an inspiration!
J Lo at the Met Gala...love the color!
Mila Kunis at the Academy Awards

Like John Stewart said at the Emmy's..if the world was to ever end, her and John Hamm should re-populate!

Who can forget Beyonce's memorable performance at the VMAs!?

What just happened yesterday?

And no, I'm not just talking about Kim Jong Il. As big as that news is, something bigger happened (jk, but this NFL sunday WAS pretty epic)! In my last blog, I had joked about the undefeated Packers losing to Kansas City. I was just kidding! I didn't think that would really happen! But kudos to KC, for handing GB their first loss. THANK YOU GOD! There is STILL only one team to have ever gone 16-0 in the regular season, and that's mah Pats :)

The Colts finally won their first game of the season!! And they scored 27 points! Just in case you've been out of the loop, the Colts star QB, Peyton Manning has been injured since the beginning of this season. That combined with poor coaching has led to a horrible season for the Colts. They hadn't won a single game all season until yesterday. They beat the Tennessee Titans 27-13! Yay! Good for them. People think I dislike the Colts. I really don't. I just don't like the Brady vs Manning debates. Manning is one the best QBs, no doubt, but he ain't no Brady!

Speaking of Brady, how amazing was THAT game? You can't blame yesterday's loss entirely on Tebow, but he did cause some costly mistakes (2nd quarter fumble, poor 4th and 17th conversion attempt, etc). And did anyone catch Brady spiking the ball after his rushing TD? Can't say I didn't enjoy seeing that ;D
I'm happy about NE winning for obvious reasons, but I'm also glad because this should turn down the "tebowmania" a notch. They spent 30 minutes on Sportscenter JUST talking about Tebow. I'm getting so sick of it! Tebow sounds like a dirty word anyway...:p

DISCLAIMER: I'm really not trying to offend anyone with my football talk...if you know me, you know how much I love football! These are just my opinions and nothing more...I might not know football inside/out, but I do love watching it and talking about it =p

Isn't being nosy fun?

Soooo this is how boring work can get sometimes. My co-worker and I saw two cops pass by. Of course, being the nosy shmozies that we are, we decided to follow the cops. They had handcuffed someone that works at an establishment nearby, and we were dying to find out what happened. We figured it's rude to just go up and ask the manager, so as we were walking out, disheartened by the lack of information we were bringing back for our co-workers, out came this Indian aunty. There are three sure things in life. Death, Taxes, and gossip from and Indian aunty. She just walked up to us, volunteered all the information (which, sadly, I can't share with you...boo). We left all happy and content. Being nosy is so fulfilling.

Anywhooo. Burger King is giving away free fries today! They launched their new, thick cut fries, so they're handing them out for free! Go getchu some!

*Also, free holiday bagel poppers with the purchase of any beverage @ Einstein Bros. Click on the link to print the coupon!

One week 'til Christmas!!

It's fridayyyyyyy!! And only week left 'til Christmas!! Have you guys done all your shopping? I usually get mine done 2-3 days before Christmas. I know, I live life on the edge :)

So has anyone been watching keeping up with the Kar-trashians? Haha..if you know me, you know how much I don't like them. Yes, I still get sucked into watching the show. Don't judge! It's just unreal how little the chemistry is between Kim K and her "husband". Her sisters call him a dog behind his back, no one in the family likes him, Kim K doesn't even look like she would buy him candy, let alone have a baby with him. Makes me wonder, if the whole thing was just a sham. I'd like to think humanity hasn't stooped down to THAT low of a level. To host an entire celebration, and pretty much make an exhibit out of the most special day of your life, all for a couple million bucks? Meh...but then again, it's the Kardashians...

Ok Ok I'll stop with the Kar-bashing...hahaha...so let's look at some good sales going on today?

Last Call by Neiman Marcus: Get 40% off of one item. Promo Code FSANN3

French Connection: Extra 50% off of sale items!! Wahhhh!! Promo code FC50SALE

I will be scouting the internet for more deals!!

Random thought of the day: Is it better to give/receive a crappy gift, or no gift at all?

Current trend: Sequins...love it or hate it? I LOVE IT! It's about time shiny things came back :) :)

Tebow who?

Morning all! Hopefully I didn't offend anyone with my title :)

Call me a non-believer, but I just don't think Tebow is the next best thing since Louboutins (hehe). Yes he works well under pressure, and yes he's had a few crazy 4th quarter comebacks. My point is...so what? Maybe it's my lack of football knowledge talking, but I just think his claim to fame is a bit immature. I don't like that this whole Tebow thing has totally overshadowed Cam Newton (3 rushing TDs in ONE game! Hello, that's something worth talking about, isn't it?). Andddd what about them mighty Packers?

Hayyyy ladies, if you're reading this (which I hope you are, I hope to convert at least 2 of you into liking football), you can actually have a conversation at work about football! Just go up to your boss or any football-loving guy, and say "Can you believe it's been a year since the Packers lost a game, to New England?" Ok fine. You don't have to say the NE part, that was just me bragging. But seriously though, how amazing is that? How must it feel, to not lose a single game, IN AN ENTIRE YEAR!! I really hope Kansas City beats the Packers this week (hey, I'm allowed to dream, aren't I?), because I'm worried about GB breaking NE's record. That year (2007) was already painful enough, I can't handle any records from that year being broken by another team. Sigh...we were so close...*tear tear*

How's everyone doing in their fantasy leagues? I didn't make the playoffs, but since I'm such a kind-hearted, giving person, I traded Gronkowski, Colston, and 49 D/ST with someone I love very dearly. Can you believe I didn't make the playoffs with all those weapons? Grr..

That's all the football talk for today...actually, no it's not. Did anyone catch the news about Sam Hurd (WR, Bears) being involved in a freaking drug distribution ring? He was apparently trying to buy cocaine and marijuana for distribution in the Chicago area. I can't even begin to tell you how much that story disgusts me. These athletes don't realize the capacity of some of their actions. I get it, you're 26 years old, you're a hot-shot with good money coming in, good money that you're getting for pretty much a hobby. Are drugs the ONLY "investment" you could think of? Now, because of your actions, you face 40 years of prison time (or maybe even a possible life sentence), say goodbye to your career, and think about all the kids you may have affected. This problem is so deeply rooted, it's already a mountainous task to tackle it. The last thing we need is athletes like Hurd, Fred Davis, Trent Williams to make it look like it's the "cool" thing to do.

Current trend: BLOCK HEELS. How do YOU feel about them?
